Railroad Freight Conductor (Trainman)

This position is based out of our Apopka, FL terminal.
A railroad freight conductor is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of freight trains as well as working with our customers to ensure accurate movement and placement of freight cars. Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions. Must be able to walk long distances over uneven terrain. Must be able to lift up to 50 LBS occasionally. Work hours may include a non-standard work week, overtime, and varying shifts. Previous work experience in a labor intensive, outdoor-industrial environment is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid state issued driver’s license, reliable transportation and a clean driving record
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must have requisite color vision acuity
Florida Central Railroad maintains a drug-free workplace and performs pre-employment substance abuse testing. All positions require pre-employment background verification as well. This is a FRA covered service position. Travel to Winter Haven and Lake Wales, FL terminals will be required occasionally to cover manpower vacancies for vacation or seasonal traffic increases.
